Hal... do you have experience with blog and the Comments feature? I ask because when in 2012 I discontinue regularly scheduled AI "issues" and had a blog installed as an ancillary to the site for ongoing reviews, I got blasted with bots posting advertising comments. I then enabled the feature where comments would be submitted for my approval before posting and the chore got so overwhelming that I just ended up disabling comments altogether. Just curious what yours, or others, experiences with this has been.

Jerry, I have been using the BLOG feature on my personal website and I have not experienced any problems with spam. I do not anticipate any problems here in this blog either, because I have two forms of Spam Protection enabled: Smart CAPTCHA and Smart Moderation. I have sent a request to Weebly Support asking them to explain how those things work.

Hi Hal,

Congrats! In a very short time EC, is really getting to be a nice place to contribute and hang around!

question: have you got an idea how it comes that most of the time my website doesn't show up in the comments? You know what I mean... the little arrow after my name, when I give a comment.

Frank, thank you for the question. You can see below that I did a TEST. I entered my website address into the Comment Form and it worked correctly. Are you entering the exact URL? Example - http://www.haltapes.com/

Frank, I think that I have solved the mystery! Do not put https:// in the address.
frankaudiffret.wixsite.com/fjna
works fine and so does
fjna.bandcamp.com

Hal, you are a genius! I hope you can delete some of the Test test test-stuff. Thanks a lot!

The Electronic Cottage website is primarily an online magazine for the publication of lengthy and in-depth articles, essays, and interviews.
For those of you who use Facebook I have created an Electronic Cottage Group, which is a casual social gathering place of the EC Community, where EC people can meet, share artwork and news of current projects and releases.
The website and this EC Facebook Group are two separate but connected entities of the greater EC Community.
