Now available from me! - two flexi-disc 6-way split releases
FLEXING THE SOUND MUSCLES and RE-FLEX
message me at [email protected] for details on how to purchase.
See below for cost and for photographs of what they look like.
- square, white, 7-inch, single-sided 45 RPM flexi-disc records in poly sleeves.
- with inkjet-printed card stock inserts cut by hand with an X-Acto knife.
- on the Going Out Of Business Records label.
A little more than three minutes of sound art and music on each disc - half a minute of sound by each artist in one continuous recording, one artist at a time - no separate tracks by each artist.

Both discs were originally issued in 2024 in editions of 150 copies.
The artists split the cost and the copies.
You can contact each artist individually, separately, to acquire copies with their own unique decorations.
I have waited until now to make my copies available.

These are definitely lo-fi, home-brewed, cult, novelty phonographic sound art objects.
The face of each disc will be hand-decorated with sticker labels, each one slightly different.

They play very well on my turntable, but they might not play well on your turntable - let the buyer beware!

If you do not have a record player and would like to hear these recordings, contact me and I will make a custom CD-R consisting of both recordings, which you can purchase. Trades for the custom 6-minute CD-R are also available.

*Trades for the flexi-discs are not available!*
However, all attendees of my future Apartment Music shows will receive free, complimentary copies, while supplies last.

I have a lot fewer copies of the first disc, FLEXING THE SOUND MUSCLES, than I do of the RE-FLEX disc.

You will pay $12 for FLEXING THE SOUND MUSCLES.
You will pay $10 for RE-FLEX.
Postage and packing cost in USA is $6 for one or both discs.
Outside the USA, postage and packing is $9 for one of both discs.

Custom 6-minute CD-Rs (available for trade)
USA - $8, postage included.
Outside USA - $11, postage included.

    Hal McGee

I have been making my own homemade experimental music since 1981.

I was an active participant in the 1980s Cassette Culture scene, and I operated the Cause And Effect Cassette Distribution Service and label, and recorded solo as Dog As Master, and in a duo as Viscera.

I published six issues of the original Electronic Cottage print magazine, 1989-91.

In the last 44 years I have recorded, produced and released more than 300 solo audio works, collaborations and compilations.
