SQUARED WAVE is a monthly series of "open aux" electronic music events the second Wednesday of every month at 4th Ave Food Park in Gainesville, Florida.
Presented by Squarehouse Pizza.
SQUARED WAVE is organized and curated by electronic musician Kevin Miller with assistance from Mark Rodriguez, owner of Squarehouse Pizza, also an electronic audio artist.

When I asked Kevin about the origins of SQUARED WAVE he told me:
"Mark is responsible for the idea! Early into me working for him at Squarehouse (then Satch Squared) he asked if I’d like to help do an electronic night based loosely on the Synth Battle events that happen at Gramps in Miami. That was 4 years ago now and we’ll be celebrating 4 years of Squared Wave this April.”

What a cool event to have in your town Hal. And a REGULAR event that has been ongoing for four years!

I’ve gotta make it out to one of these events one of these days, especially since I currently don’t have to work on Wednesdays! Would be worth the 2+ hour trek for sure

Dylan, if you want to come up for the Squared Wave show on March 12th, let me know, and we can go together.

What a great event! I wish I were not out of town when it happens. I hope to attend in the summer, when I am not commuting to work. Thanks so much to the organizers! Thanks to Hal McGee for this article!

Wow--who knew? Is this the new folk music of the 21st Century? Gainesville FL, the new Greenwich Village! Hal, I would have suspected you as the impresario for these events, but I see it's the Squarehouse Pizza guys. How nice to know they are not actually 'squares'... Nice light show, too.

Seems appropriate that Florida would provide a proper launching pad for space adventures. Carry on with the mission fellow travelers ! - and keep clear all of those ever more numerous Spacex satellites as you explore the mysterious edges.

I have been making my own homemade experimental music since 1981.

I was an active participant in the 1980s Cassette Culture scene, and I operated the Cause And Effect Cassette Distribution Service and label, and recorded solo as Dog As Master, and in a duo as Viscera.

I published six issues of the original Electronic Cottage print magazine, 1989-91.

In the last 44 years I have recorded, produced and released more than 300 solo audio works, collaborations and compilations.
