STRING III (2019)

1/17/2019

At the end of this year I gathered up all the pieces made in the last six months, and “strung” them together to make STRING III. Created by layering and mixing and editing and re-arranging the sound files in ProTools, STRING III is made from sounds I recorded everywhere - intimately close and in huge acoustic spaces. I’m always amazed at the strange variety of sounds one can find. These “taken sounds” are what I’m combining and stringing together as a whole.

Without a doubt Eduardo, making all these sounds seem to flow is the hardest part.

I like the way you use field-recordings of every-day situations, how you mix them and create new spaces. in the mix you also create new patters of perception.

I work totally different with field-recordings, more aleatoric.

Outstanding work! Excellent mixing and of course a very enjoyable listen. I struggle finding the time to record new sounds. Even then the sounds I find aren't this nice.

Phil - the hardest part is finding new sounds to record, and yet almost by accident something pops up. I keep my Zoom H6 and stereo mic out at all times - you never know.

A story without words, audio expression that creates moods, the 60/70 had stockhausen and subotnick, we have had Wiggins for 30 years now and he continues to lead the way.
