Don Campau update and archiving progress 2020

On December 15, 2019 I ended the all genres "No Pigeonholes " show on KKUP after 41 years and a few days earlier also ended my long time show on Radio Marabu ( 21 years ). If you care to hear/download the final shows from both of these radio stations go here: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/doncampau

As I stated before I will be keeping my experimental and jazz shows on KOWS Radio, where I am Program Director. That's kowsfm.com, or http://kows92-5.org/

So, the archiving of 35 years of the "regular" No Pigeonholes shows is in full swing now. I have every show since 1985 on tape, CD or mp3 files so there's a lot of content, in fact, thousands of hours. I am listing ( the best I can ) the artists that I played on these shows and whatever memories I have of the time.

So, for now at least, the portal for these programs will be here:

You are the pioneer! Many good things happened because of your insight into music and the necessity of musicians to escape being trapped in a genre. On to new things!!!

What amazes me is that YOU, Don Campau, not only recorded all of your radio broadcasts, but that you kept copies of them them all. Two hour shows too -- you must have at least 1000 tapes to digitize, just dealing with your 20th Century shows. That's something that would make Hercules shiver, methinks. May the muses keep you ever-inspired for this noble task!

I' m so impressed. First you did great radio shows, now your effort will massively improve the music collections on archive.org.
Thanks so much!

    Don Campau

My name is Don Campau and I have been involved in underground and non mainstream music and radio since 1969. I continue to be an active home taper and Cassette Culture archivist with my own site, The Living Archive.

    Links to know me better:

(my music catalog  and radio listings)

I have no interest in the music business. I believe in giving my music away for free (although people can trade or buy if they want) and I handmake every single CD I send out. I am interested in human relationships and the community of independent and underground musicians and artists. I like contact and will play your music on the radio.
