This week's Deprogramming Center features excerpts from several Klaus Schulze concerts, all originating from tapes that once belonged to the late Doug Walker of the legendary Alien Planetscapes. Fans of space music, Krautrock, and synthesizers are encouraged to tune in for this rare treat.

You can hear the show live on KOWS, this Saturday, July 21st, 12:00 AM USA PACIFIC DAYLIGHT TIME (Friday Midnight) here:

Or, anytime for the next month here (this show will disappear in a few weeks):

Nice to hear these live-recordings! They're very good quality, I must say. And another fine show to listen to with lots of usefull information! Thank you Swami.
One question... why these shows will disappear in a few weeks?

Hello Friends -- Many thanks to everyone who is tuning in to this show! I'm glad that it has brought you some entertainment, because it took a long time to put together. This hour broadcast really is just a tiny bit of the 22 full-length concerts that I worked with in the process of producing the show.

Regards your inquiries... My knowledge of the history of these tapes is limited to what I said about their origins in the broadcast. I'm betting that each of these recordings has quite a few tales attached to it; but I was only the last link in what I'm guessing were quite a few long and twisted chains. As for "Doug's original tapes," if you (Jeff) mean tapes of Mr. Walker's own music, I know nothing of their whereabouts. I was of the belief that Jeff and Chris might have actually filled in some blanks about the mysteries of Mr. Walker's tapes -- oh well, mysteries can be fun... I suggest you guys probe my source, Jerry Kranitz, in your searches for more information.

Regards the temporary-ness of this show... Back in the 1990's I hosted a show called The Deprogramming Center on KAW in Lawrence, Kansas. There was no way of putting radio shows online in those days, so every broadcast was a live event, and when it was over, there was no recording to archive anywhere. I guess in my own old-fashioned-Luddite way that I want to consider my current Deprogramming Center radio broadcasts to be like live events too, so in this age of the internet, I've adapted a little compromise by making my shows available online only temporarily. My new Magnetic Bungalow series seems more valuable somehow than my other Deprogramming Center shows (personal interpretation), so I've decided that the Bungalows should be more permanently archived. All this may make no sense to a lot of people, but since it's me who is running this show, I have to follow my own quirky path.

I am betting may be wrong that Richard Orlando has them all, I only have some, Orlando has been making dvds of some of the material so I think that may be where they are. I bet Jerry has quite a bit as well.

Bravo, Herr Loopynanda. Another great Deprogramming Center program. You really did a great job of making those old tapes sound listenable. Your breaks/raps spoken parts always add so much to the listener's understanding of what they are hearing. Schulze is known these days to most people as a world-class synthesizer-player, but he started out primarily as a drummer in Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel. Any way, thanks for your hard work on this program. Your thorough research and attention to detail are admirable. Looking forward to the next program in a couple of weeks!

Thanks for the kind works, Mr. H, and thanks also for bringing up Schulze's drumming as well -- I'm convinced that Mr. Klaus is doing some electronic drumming on a couple of these pieces, maybe even some non electronic percussion on the third piece... If only I could have seen these shows in person myself...

I've never been a fan of this kind of music, but I think it's a good summer time to listen to your program. It is possible that I like it a lot ... your program always

Floating = good. Sinking = not good. Fans = good (especially in summer). Say "Hello" to the whales for me, Rafa (I miss them here in Kansas).

I'm going to do it, of course. But if you listen to Klaus Schulze a lot, I'm sure it will be possible for you to see whales swimming in the Kansas sky
