Lord Litter: At The Gates Of Hell, 1991 Experimental Rarity

8/1/2018

August's Magnetic Bungalow Show features an experimental Lord Litter cassette album that is so rare that it was never released by its creator. "On The Other Hand, Part 2, At The Gates Of Hell" blends LL's sonic improvs with bits of audio recorded by EC persons Chris Phinney (Mental Anguish), Gen Ken Montgomery, C. Goff III (Herd Of The Ether Space), PLUS other 20th Century cassette artists like Carl Howard (Nomuzic), Dan Fioretti, Alain Neffe (I Scream), Dieter Zobel/Gui Gust (Das Freie Orchester), and more...

Great show Charles! Really nice to hear the more freaky spaced out experimental side of Lord Litter. And lotsa cool collaborators here. I love artists like Lord Litter (and YOU) who are not only amazing SONGmeisters but awesome experimentalists! (BTW, love the 'Magnetic Bungalow' show title!)

Very nice to read the positive reinforcements from you all, thanks much for your attention. Mr. Litter himself wrote to say: "...Unbelievable! .. never heard my release this way..I checked it once or twice since it's on archive.org but never had the experience I had listening to your show...! I'm sure this is my most extreme release - all this mixed and played *live*..."

I feel lucky that Hal created the EC website to encourage my efforts in bringing attention to such gems as this cassette, and even luckier that Lord Litter was moved to provide this one-of-a-kind tape to me, so it could be shared with you all and not hidden forever in obscurity. I also must thank our mutual friend, Don Campau, for providing me the opportunity to broadcast such programs on KOWS. ... Perhaps it is a wonderful life after all.

And another superb show, Swami! Great to get to know more about Lord Litter.

Now, I wonder how the original:"Could You Flush Me Down The Toilet?" sounds.

Well, it took me a long time to be able to find the mental time and space to fully devote my attention to this fantastic episode of Magnetic Bungalow! First of all, as always, Swami Loopynanda hits it out of the ballpark with the details! I love this kind of thing, where I actually find out stuff about my friends, cohorts and collaborators that I didn't know or maybe quite grasp about their artistic work and history. Swami, I salute your attention to detail! We all need to follow Swami's example, and treat the work of our peers as worthy of the kind of devotion that "normal people" devote to pop star adulation. As far as the music presented itself, what a gem! I had no idea that Lord Litter had ever created music like this. I am totally amazed. Such depth! Music that moves the listener, at least this one. I feel educated, enlightened, enriched, enthralled AND entertained by this installment of Magnetic Bungalow!

Thanks so much for the glowing reinforcement, Mr. Editor. Today I've felt like everything I've written or said was transformed into a mush by the time it reached its target. Wrong names, extra words in sentences, extra letters in words... you get the picture. I can only hope that this was the effect of today's trip to the dentist and not another warning sign on the way to serious brain deterioration. Lord Litter and all the other subjects of my programs deserve real recognition for their contributions to our society. I can only hope my little presentations will continue to bring smiles to listeners.
