Hello Cottagers! Hope you all are staying safe and healthy during these weird, weird times. Like a lot of people, we're in lockdown here in Toronto but it's okay...for the most part, Torontonians seem to be handling it fairly well and the veneer of civilized behavior remains intact (except for the toilet paper panic right at the start of things. That was idiotic). Yes, it is stressful, and there have been extra difficulties. On the plus side, us introverted artist types are well-suited to self-isolation! I do miss performing, going to concerts, exhibitions, screenings, etc., and hanging out with friends but, aside from not performing, my creative life has not been negatively impacted. Speaking of which...

I have a few new things to announce!

First up, the April episode of RE/CYCLING is online now at Mixcloud. I'm quite pleased with how the series is going and am very happy with the April episode. If you'd like to give it a listen just use the player below or visit my Mixcloud page.
Next, FADE/DISSOLVE, my improvising trio with David Story and Gordon Way, is finding ways to continue working without meeting in person. Not nearly as fun but we did manage to put a new piece of sound/video art together which is available for viewing/listening in the player below (or at our Youtube channel or website).
And finally, I'm thrilled to be included (as The Bim Prongs) on a recently released digital compilation called ATTN:SPAN from UK-based ATTN Magazine! A fantastic collection of 10-second tracks by over 200 artists including Oren Ambarchi, Faith Coloccia, Norman Westberg, Ryoko Akama, Mats Gustafsson, Aidan Baker, Anla Courtis, David Fenech, John Butcher, Jos Smolders, Lasse Marhaug, Phil Minton, Richard Youngs, and many more! All proceeds from the sale of the album go to the Cool Earth charity. Check it out at the link below:

That's all for now. Please feel free to comment below, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Very pleased to announce the release of "Window 3" by Wax Infant on the CEIL label!

https://waxinfant.bandcamp.com/releases

"Window 3" is the third in a series of four performances that took place at the International Bureau of Recordist Investigation in Toronto in the mid to late 90s. These performances were casual, impromptu audio improvisations that were amplified via a "boombox" placed in the window which projected the sounds into the street for an audience of random passersby.

"Window 3" was improvised and recorded live to cassette by Wax Infant (William A. Davison and Jim DeJong), Nov. 7th, 1995 at I.B.R.I., 797 Ossington Ave., Toronto. Jim played feedback machine and tapes. William played tapes, Casio SK-1 sampler, toys and acoustic instruments, and microphone feedback.

Other performances in the series (yet to be released) included W.A.Davison solo, Phycus (Brian Damage and Bill Satan), and Urban Refuse Group (Robert Atwood, Colin Hinz, S. Higgins, Marc Lemyre, and William Davison).

Announcing the final episode of Stactirrm Radioo!

Listen here or on my Mixcloud channel.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to the program over the past year and who liked, followed, commented, etc. on various social media platforms! Your support is very much appreciated! Extra-superduper-special thanks to my collaborator on the project, Matt Waldron, aka irr. app. (ext.), who was not only a pleasure to work with but remained dedicated to the project throughout the year, in spite of numerous personal hardships!

Matt and I had a blast putting these shows together and are very proud of what we accomplished with the project! Please do check out this month's episode and/or any of the previous shows at Mixcloud.

Although this is the final episode of the show, all 12 episodes of Stactirrm Radioo will remain on my Mixcloud channel indefinitely, so feel free to spend the next few years of your life pouring over every minute of every program looking for the secrets of the universe...I guarantee they are in there, if you listen hard enough! Also still available on my Mixcloud channel are my previous two year-long projects "The Long Play" (2018) and "Stactorm Radioo" (2017).

Another radio art project is in the works for 2020, stay tuned!
