This is a special issue featuring an essay by Jerry Kranitz, "Some Thoughts On Listening", in which he talks about the personal joys of listening to "difficult music", and he gives detailed reactions to four albums that introduced him to homemade experimental music, by Bret Hart, Charles Rice Goff III, Dick Metcalf, and Hal McGee. With artwork by Rafael González. Available for $8 postage paid worldwide, or trade (message me).

THANKS Chris! I really enjoyed writing this essay AND including a revisit of music I had first heard and reviewed LONG ago!

I am humbly honored to find out that The Magic Potty Babies in some way helped lead Mr. Kranitz into the deeper currents of experimental music, which he has spent so much effort calling attention to ever since with his splendid written observations. It's a pleasure to rediscover Jerry's discoveries from the turn of the century.

My compliments also to Halzine's Mister McGee for making such a visually appealing presentation of Jerry's reviews.

Calling Bret Hart and Rotcod Zzaj Metcalf -- Please come to the EC party, and bring some of your anecdotes that I know we'd all love to read!

I have invited Bret to EC, but he has not found the time for it yet. Rotcod knows about EC through FB, but hasn’t expressed any interest in it yet. Maybe these guys need nudges, invites and encouragements from other community members.

I have been making my own homemade experimental music since 1981.

I was an active participant in the 1980s Cassette Culture scene, and I operated the Cause And Effect Cassette Distribution Service and label, and recorded solo as Dog As Master, and in a duo as Viscera.

I published six issues of the original Electronic Cottage print magazine, 1989-91.

In the last 44 years I have recorded, produced and released more than 300 solo audio works, collaborations and compilations.
