Hal McGee — Home For The Hellidays
audio folk art dictaphone assemblage
recorded Thanksgiving Day through New Year's Eve 2018
with four Sony ICD-PX470 stereo digital dictaphones in Gainesville, Florida featuring Stanley and Lumen K
I played Korg Monotron, Monotron Duo, Monotron Delay,
and Moog Model D iPhone app synthesizers through a JBL Clip 3 speaker.
The opening track, "new adventure in life — Sticky Mix", was recorded November 22-30, 2018. The four separate threads or layers of this mixed assemblage were originally offered here.

2019 is already off to a great start! Knowing that you were working on this really helped me get through the past Xmas season. Home for Hellidays is the deliverance. The keyboards with all the voices and sounds is intoxicating— like a glass of New Year’s champagne. The photos and the slide show are fantastic too. Now onto Bandcamp for the download so I can get this baby on my iPod. Happy New Year, indeed! Thank you!!!

Very nice. I have my own audio assemblage collages I need to put together sourced from the same field recorders last month. Maybe 2019 won't suck after all.

Completely agree, Leslie. Hal's recordings always make me hungry. Currently I have a good cold, but I can still think of a taco or burrito

Finally had a chance for a dedicated listen to Home For The Hellidays and, as always, it’s chock full of fun audio nuggets. Lots of cool spaced out music along with the day in the life morsels. And I like the playful tune near the end. Should there be a wet Stanley pic in the slideshow? (Damned if I know why that caught my attention)
