KURT SCHWITTERS / VICENTE HUIDOBRO / JUAN CUNHA On the Ursonate (top piece of the German Kurt Schwitters, 1932) we intersperse fragments of Altazor (1931) and En la luna (1934) works by Chilean Vicente Huidobro and Letromaquia (circa 1935), an extensive poem belonging to the Uruguayan Juan Cunha. Contemporary poems that claim the phonetic value of the word, texts that demand the independence of writing to fully fly over the free space of the voice. Fragments randomly selected at the time of recording guided solely by the exchange of looks and the attentive listening of the other. Recorded on November 14, 2018 in Estudio Berequetúm, La Blanqueada, Montevideo, Uruguay. Voices: (from left to right) Fernando Pérez, Luis Bravo, José Burdiles, Pablo Fante, Federico Eisner & Juan Ángel Italiano.

Juan Angel, I saw a gentleman on the street this morning wearing a t-shirt that said Zang Tum Tum. I think that it was supposed to be referencing the ZTT music label of the '80's (Art of Noise) but I thought that Hugo Ball was trying to send me a message. Now I see and hear that Kurt Schwitters and you were sending me a message. Message received. Mucho gracias!!!!

How cool! A very interesting record label, The Art Of Noise, Propaganda, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, etc. Very eighties! The name of the music label is taken from ZANG TUMB TUMB, is an onomatopoeia created by Marinetti, which illustrates the cover of his most classic book, made in 1914. Cornerstone for Schwitters, Ball, Janco and all that incredible band of the avant-garde.

Yes, of course, Marinetti! A friend located an edition of his Selected Writings that I need to read asap.

A great recording: The Battaglia Di Adrianopoli, originally recorded in 1924, wonderful!

Juan, you and your associates show tremendous chemistry in your reading. The trills and warbles and whispers and growls are all very nicely orchestrated, and it is obvious you and your fellows are all enjoying yourselves. Bravo.
