EC brought something back that I thought was lost.
I really read most of the words here ... listen to most of the sounds Time does unfortunately not allow to get in touch with all that interests me .. too much. But to get to know (via Ditlev Buster's personal page) that there is the *barely teenager* Jonas Torstensen who started his journey into sound with a Spike Jones LP (!!!) then established a label and now started producing radioshows is simply ... too good to know. I listened to the show - my danish is bit rusty - but I hear the sound and it's so well chosen and wonderful! I fact it's absolutely fascinating ... Proves it will never stop! The underground is alive and well and I can read about and listen to here at EC...many thanks to you all!

This morning at about 2:00, while I was working on the Electronic Cottage website, I listened to the cassette version of Tapes 1970's/1980's: Treasures For Deep Divers, It is a pleasing mix of rare and previously un-released tracks by Charles Rice Goff III of tape collage, Frippertronic-style tape loop forays, improvisational bits, and cover versions. The two covers, "You're Sixteen" and "When I'm Sixty-Four" were recorded by Goff in 1973, when he was about 14! The other more experimental, more electronic tracks all date from 1979 to 1981.
You can find lots more info and downloadables at the Internet Archive.
Hello all! The fourth episode of my 2018 radio art series "The Long Play" is available now on Mixcloud.
"The Long Play" is an intense, long-form examination of distressed vinyl, specifically a single LP from my collection of found records. Through extreme speed change, time-shifting, compression and EQ, each track of the LP has been stretched out to approximately 30 minutes, virtually erasing, in some cases, the original musical content, and taking on the character of a "field recording", a strange and surreal psychogeography of a place that does not exist. One track of the 12 track LP will be released per month over the course of 2018. https://www.mixcloud.com/william-davison2/the-long-play-episode-4-time-bomb/ - W.A.Davison www.recordism.com produced for http://www.Radio-Marabu.de
The show will be streamed / aired throughout MAY 2018 by Radio Marabu several times (incl. new Radio Marabu shortwave frequency!) but is already available via archive.org - here is the link - you can spread if you like - the show will be on archive.org *forever*... >> download / listen >> LORD LITTER'S MAGIC MUSIC BOX 2018 - 5 https://archive.org/details/lord_litters_magic_music_box_2018_5 >> 10 Years of FRUITS DE MER Records ..................... 1. Here is a bit of video documentation from my recent performance with Lorne Shapiro and Neil Wiernik:
EC Editor Hal McGee reports:
Head Moron Evan Cantor recently sent to me a CDR version of Raw Sewage Volume III, a collection of Walls Of Genius rarities from the early days of the band. For the first three years of the band's existence they recorded and performed under different names for various sessions and live shows. In these 13 tracks, all recorded in 1983, we hear Cantor, Little Fyodor, and Ed Fowler tear into cover versions of Alice Cooper, Bob Dylan, Moussorgsky, The Beatles, and Gram Parsons, the infamous "Dead Puppies" by Ogden Edsl, plus wacked-out originals, and just general improvisational madness! You'll hear songs by Spazz Attack, Excitable Dogs, The have Mersey Beats, Good Enough For A Hell-hole, Religious Services, Big Man On Campus, The Dirt Clods, Joe Colorado, and Johnny Pureheart.

EC Editor Hal McGee reports: On Tuesday when I got home I found in my mailbox a package from an old contact and tape trading partner of mine from the 1990s, Kei Yokota. Kei has two recordings projects, Outermost and Invader From Mars, and I still have cassettes by both. When I saw Kei's address on the package I immediately recognized it as being the same address he had 20 years ago, in Sapporo, Japan. It is likely that I first contacted Kei through our mutual friend, Brian Noring, who operated the FDR Tapes label in Des Moines. Inside the box I found a beautiful 7-inch 45 RPM record release on the Skull Records label titled "Studies Of Space And Sorrow", with Bastard Noise on Side A, and Kei's Outermost on Side B. The printed sleeve features richly-detailed artwork by Masato Okano that is psychedelic, freaky, super creepy, and awesome. The liner notes on the inside of the cover contains a plea for compassion for all living things, sensitivity to Mother Earth, and a call for all people to show kindness to animals, the elderly, and Nature. If I understand correctly, the four tracks, two on each side, are collaborations of Barnes and Wood of BN with Yokota. Rumbling, crunchy electronics with screamed vocals, perhaps illustrating the pain and suffering of The Earth, and righteous anger at "Insensitive Life-Forms (That) Now 'Sunbathe' in Space..." The record itself is a beautiful object - LAVENDER vinyl! This record was released in 2017, but I'm not sure if there are any copies left. The Bastard Noise website SEEMS to be inactive: the Store section is definitely inactive. There are currently four copies for sale on Discogs.
I am very happy to have this record, and it makes me happy to be back in touch with Kei. I am going to my HalZine 11 + CDR to him in trade soon. A quick web search reveals no online presence for Kei. I am not surprised by that! Kei always seemed like the kind of guy who would remain true to physical object based noise. I seriously doubt that he and I ever exchanged an email! Our interactions were probably totally through postal mail. If any of you want to write to Kei and see if he wants to trade recordings, email me, and I will give you his postal address. Below is a 27-second audio excerpt from Outermost's side of the record. http://www.radio-on-berlin.com "Is this show by lord Litter a pop opera? What defines a pop opera? ....
