When I recently told someone that soon there will be a Kylie Minogue remix tape, I heard: "Yeah sounds interesting, though I'm not a fan of her songs". Ha - this the underground so it will be NOT Kylie Minogue songs - it will be Kylie herself!

WOT?? How does this work? Well, Kylie Minogue released her new production also as MC (Music Cassette). Seems the whole world jumps on this *novelty train* now ... so there is this short video where she inserts the (her) cassette into a walkman, puts on the earphones and goes totally over the top when she hears the first sounds. She is really excited (!!) and totally flips...

Now - the soundtrack of this video is the basic sound for the remixes. Released by Staaltape. "Staaltape is Staalplaat’s cassette label. Staalplaat, active since 1981, is a well-established name among the practitioners and fans of a non-established genre."

The whole release is truly bizarre and mysterious because the official information defines: "The Kylie management wanted to pay respect to the underground cassette movement. They did or did not ask staaltape to take care of a remix of Kylie’s album Golden. Staaltape proposed a remix of the sounds on the video. The management did or did not agree, on the condition that they would choose half of the musicians. The artist’s names had to remain unknown."

So who knows who is hiding behind pseudonyms like "El Tonto Bing Bang" "or Mrs. Mangle"?

The Cassette is like an ongoing soundtrack that starts with an almost rock like track and ends with an almost radio play track. Somewhere in the middle you'll get the original video soundtrack by Kylie Minogue .. almost not identifiable as if it was part of the *remix*.

The Staaltape production is 100% handmade, like the golden cassette and the typewriter artist/song list - every part of the cover breathes a human being involved .. hard core underground 2018.
